Helen Hicks

Helen Leona Stringfield Hicks age 80 of Harriman, Tennessee died Sunday afternoon February 24, 2013 at The Methodist Medical Center in Oak TN. She was born September 20, 1932 in Morgan County to Joseph Walter and Mede (Underwood) Stringfield. She was a member of and attended Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Oliver Springs, TN until her health deteriorated. She was a big fan of University of Tennessee Sports, especially football and was almost always dressed in some type of Tennessee orange and white. She was preceded in death by her parents; Rev. J.W. and Meda Stringfield, Sister: Hazel May, Two Brothers: Herschel Stringfield and Leslie Underwood, Three Brother in-laws: R.C.May, James Mays and Talmadge Davis, Two Nephews: Charles Underwood and Jimmy Mays

She is survived by her husband of 60 years: Paul L. Hicks Sr.,
Son: Paul L. Hicks Jr. (Donna)
Sisters: Shirley Mays of Lima, OH, Merolene Davis of Camila, GA
Brother: J.C. Stringfield of Lancing, TN
Sister-in-laws: Aliene Underwood of Lancing, TN, JoAnn Stringfield of Weed, New Mexico, Mary Jo Ellis (Billy) of Lancing, TN, Joyce Hicks of Harriman, TN, Maeagile Stringfield of Wartburg, TN

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 8:00pm with Rev. Perry Spurling officiating. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11:00am in the Lane Cemetery.
