Helan Hurst

Helen Kathleen Jacks Hurst, 85, of Bonneau, SC, died Sunday morning, January 8, 2012 in a North Charleston hospital.

Mrs. Hurst was born February 6, 1926, in Wartburg, TN, a daughter of Ben Jacks and Elsie Hines Jacks. She was a member of the Wapakoneta Baptist Church, Wapakoneta OH, and she was preceded in death by a sister, Aileen Hamby. Mrs. Hurst enjoyed going to garage sales, collecting dolls, and flying, but most of all, she loved taking care of her family.

Surviving are; her husband, Onder Hurst;
Two daughters, Kim H. Gootee and Husband, Gary, of Bonneau, and Lisa H. Bruno and husband, John, of Irving, TX;
Son, Benny Hurst and his wife, Kay, of Amelia, OH;
Sister, Thelma Garrett of Harriman, TN;
Brother, Ben Jacks, Jr., of Albany, GA;
Seven grandchildren and Eight great grandchildren.

Family will receive friends Friday, January 13, 2012, from 6 to 8 pm Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 8 pm with Rev. Richard Parker officiating. Graveside services will be Saturday 11:00 am Morgan Memorial Gardens, Wartburg, TN.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the St. Jude
Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
