Hazel Mae Branstetter was born in Deer Lodge, Tennessee on September 22, 1945 to the proud parents Roy Branstetter and Dorothy Jones who have preceded her in death. Hazel Branstetter was educated in the Tennessee school systems. Hazel was baptized at an early age in Tennessee. She met and married husband Claude Brown in Tennessee. They married in 1961 at the age of 16. This union produced two wonderful sons Lester Brown (who preceded her death) and Billy Brown.
Hazel Brown and Claude relocated to Detroit, MI in 1965 with their two sons. Hazel worked at General Motors until she got sick and had to retire early. Hazel was a member of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Frank Robinson Jr. for almost 20 years and she loved her Pastor and her church home. Mother Brown loved to make sure her church and community was looking good. She was always planting flowers and cleaning whether she was sick or healthy.
Mother Brown had a generous spirit, a warm and giving heart. She always gave encouraging words or that beautiful smile. She always helped the less fortunate. Mother Brown just loved working with her hands. She always said, “small and ugly, but God gave them to me. She will be missed by everyone.
