Hazel Bingham

Hazel Bingham, age 91, passed from this life to life eternal, at the Life Care Center of Morgan County. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Wartburg for 75 years. She was a faithful member in all aspects and served as a teacher there for many years.

Loving wife, mother and grandmother, she is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Elmer Bingham. Also preceding in death are her parents, Jessie McGahan Gaskin and Ray Gaskin; step mother, Tressie Gaskin; brothers Bill and Carlos Gaskin; one half brother, Roddy Gaskin; one half sister, Connie Pritchett; and two daughters in-law, Darlene Daughtery Bingham and Connie Phillips Bingham Williams.

Five children and their spouses survive. One daughter, Kay and husband Lowell Cornett, Cornettsville, KY; 4 sons, Everett and wife Rhonda Coleman Bingham of Wedowee, Al; Steve and wife Betty Barton Bingham of Arlington, VA; Jim and wife Pamela Bingham of Wartburg; Clark and wife Paula Cooper Bingham of Harrison, TN.
11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 4 great, great grandchildren.

Surviving also, one sister, Katy Crutchfield; 3 half sisters, Sue Gaskin McDaniel; Patsy Gaskin Neskaug; and Dorothy Sommer; two half brothers, Tom Jellicorse and George D. Gaskin.

Mrs. Bingham was a well known, beloved substitute teacher in the Morgan County School system for 20 years.

A special Thank You to all the staff at the Life Care Center of Morgan County and Avalon Hospice for their care and concern for her.

In lieu of flowers, she requested memorials be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 40, Wartburg, TN or the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home c/o Liberty Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends at Schubert Funeral Home on Saturday, September 24, 2011 from 5 to 8p.m.at Wartburg.
Funeral service at 2:30p.m.on Sunday at Liberty Baptist Church with Brother Paul Frick officiating. Interment will follow in the Liberty Church Cemetery. Mrs. Bingham will be there an hour in advance prior to the service.
