Halard Hamby

Mr. Halard Hamby, age 80 of Wartburg, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 2, 2012. He was retired from the Tennessee Department of Corrections. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Lancing, TN. He was preceded in death by parents Sylvester and Bertha Griffith Hamby, wife Iola Hamby; a son, Steven Halard Hamby; grandson, Jason Wayne Hamby; brothers, Herman, Thurman, Harlan and S.V. , sisters; Geneva, Marie and Glenice.

He is survived by his loving sister, Thelma Thomas of Wartburg, whom helped care for him throughout his illness;
Sons and daughters -in-law; RV and Freda Hamby of Adams, TN; Thurman and Nancy Hamby of Wartburg,
Son Wayne Hamby of Rockwood,
Daughters and sons-in-law; Diana and Terry Scarborough and Kim and Daniel Barnes of Wartburg.
He was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 15 Great grandchildren and a special, long-life friend, Gene Rose of Wartburg. He will be greatly missed by a host of extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 8:00p.m. with Bro. Buster Armes and Bro. Charles Webb officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:00p.m. in the Morgan Memorial Gardens.
