Georgia Carter

Mrs. Georgia Lee England Carter of Oak Ridge TN, age 92, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Morgan Co. Life Care Center. She was born July 5, 1919 to George and Nannie England of Sunbright, TN. Mrs. Carter and her husband were owners of one of the first shoe stores in Oak Ridge.
The Bootery was first located in Jackson Square and was later relocated downtown and closed in January 1971.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Carter;
parents, George W. England and Nannie McCartt England; sisters, Opal I. Ross and Ova E. England; brother, Jack R. England; brother-in-law, Raymond M. Ross; sister-in-law, Carol Catron England.
She is survived by: nephews, Tim and Jennie England and Todd and Tara England; niece, Kimberly England; grandnieces, Miranda, Jennica, Jaclyn and Sara; grandnephew, Kent England all of Sunbright.

The family will receive friends Tuesday November 22, 2011 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Sunbright with funeral services following at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. John Slater officiating.
Interment will be held Wednesday November 23, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Sunbright Cemetery.
