George was a Navy hero, Battleship Sailor that sailed on the USS Iowa. He was on the ship during the 1989 turret explosion. He bravely and honorably served his country. He was a member of the DAV and American Legion. He was an avid fan of the University of Tennessee and was known to sing Rocky Top as often as possible. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and WWE events, as well as playing golf with friends and fantasy football. He was known to some as “Country” and to others as “Big George”, but known to all as a friend and amazing man.
He cared deeply for people. He was one of the most generous and kind hearted men you would have ever met. (The Best Good Samarian that ever existed.) Those that have known and loved him have been blessed to have spent time with such an upstanding human being.
He loved God, his family, and country above all else, and never once stopped protecting each one of them.
