George Donley Galloway of Sunbright, TN passed away on April 13, 2014 at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tn. He was born on July 7, 1930 in Burrville, TN to George and Josephine Galloway. He served during the Korean War and was Honorably Discharged. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Tenn. Tech University after his war service. He also received a partial Master's degree from ETSU. He taught High School for 5 years at Sunbright School. He also coached the girl's high school basketball team during this time. He had a 32 year career with the state of Tennessee Dept. of Health where he was employed as an Environmentalist. He was a member of the Sunbright First Baptist Church for 64 years. During those years he served as Sunday School Teacher and Deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Josephine Galloway, his infant daughter: Donna Galloway, his brothers: Samuel, Victor, John W. and an infant sibling.
He is survived by his wife Lois Stringfield Galloway of nearly 57 years
Sister: Mary Galloway Haagen of Grand Rapids, Michigan
Daughter: Melissa Galloway Miling and husband Robert and their children Mitchell Miling and Ashleigh Miling all of Wayland Michigan
Daughter: Lori Galloway Lyons and husband Mark and their daughter Madeline Lyons all of Burrville, TN.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Sunbright. Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 11:00AM at Sunbright First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Sunbright Cemetery.
