Gary Newport of Wartburg, TN

Gary Lynn Newport 62, of Wartburg passed away at home on Tuesday morning.  He was preceeded in death by his parents, Ermon and Zina(Sexton)Newport, His wife of 39 years Kimberly (Armes) Newport, his father n law Vaughn BIG V Armes, one uncle Billy Mitchell. Brother n Law, Lanny Armes, and one sister n law Robin (Armes) Daugherty.

He is survived by his girls and grandson, Carey, Casey, and Kaleb Jade Newport.  Mother n law, Yvonne Armes, 1 brother Ricky Newport and one sister Barbara (Fred) Young of Wartburg.  1 very special brother Matthew (Sara) Armes  and 2 sisters Tamela Nelson and Joy Nell Armes.  1 special Aunt Joyce Mitchell, Special Cousins Sharon Barnes, Wade (Iva) Mitchell and Pamela (Mike) Hooks.  2 special friends Logan Aslinger and Teresa Jenkins

Gary was a lifelong citizen of Morgan County.  He served in the 82nd Airborne Division where he was stationed at Fort Bragg NC.  Gary graduated from the police academy  as valedictorian and served proudly as a deputy sheriff of Morgan County.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 6-8pm  with funeral following at 8pm. Bro Roy Langley and Bro Danny Jenkins officiating.  Graveside Services will be Sunday at 3pm Clear Creek Lancing
