Eula Mae “Sally” Schlossenberg

January 2, 1945 — August 8, 2024

Eula Mae Schlossenberg, known by most as Sally, passed peacefully On Thursday, August 8, 2024, at a special hospice facility in Pasadena, MD at the age of 79. She was surrounded by family and after a long battle with Parkinsons, she is now at peace. She has been reunited in heaven with her parents, James and Novella 'Sug' Jestes of Oliver Springs TN. She is preceded in death by her grand-parents Clyde Armes and Ruth McElhaney-Armes. We are sure that she is also happily reuniting with her many aunts and uncles: Thelma (Cotton) Patrick, Eulene Armes, Joan Haynes, and Luis Armes, along with her cousin Judy Caddell of Petros, TN. We would be remiss if we didn’t include her horses, one of them named "Lady" who meant so much to her. Stories of a young Sally abound, painting a picture of her riding bare-back through the soft foothill mountains of Petros, TN.

Born in Petros, TN, Sally knew that an exciting road lay ahead as she ventured out right after high school to start working for the government in the NoVA/Washington, DC area including the Pentagon. What followed was a beautiful career in civil service taking her to places such as Randolf Air Force Base in Texas and to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, where she ultimately retired. Always the smart businesswomen, she had a passion for makeup and skin care, and became owner of a Merle Normal Cosmetic Studio in Merritt Island, FL, which she ran successfully for over 20 years. After selling the studio in late retirement, Sally took on the responsibility of caring for her mother, Sug.

Sally loved Tennis, horses, history and all things NASA-space related.

Sally is survived by her daughter Kathryn McMillon and husband Bruce McMillon, son Matthew Schlossenberg and wife Angel Schlossenberg, all of Maryland, and daughter Jennifer Gomez and husband Jason Gomez of Florida, along with the following grandchildren spread throughout Maryland, Florida, and Washington State: Devon Werner, Christopher Gomez, Aaron Gomez, Isabella Gomez, Olivia Gomez, Michael Schlossenberg, and Emily Schlossenberg. Additionally, cousin Marilyn Foster and husband Frank Foster, their son’s Adam and James Foster, and 2nd cousin Tammy Cox – all of Petros, along with Tammy’s son’s Brandon and Trevor Cox, as well as cousin Doyle Haynes and wife Cheryl Haynes, and their son Jeremy Hayes of Wartburg. She was supported by all including previous husband and friend, Aaron Schlossenberg and his wife Edith Schlossenberg of Virginia, as well as by John Owens of Deer Lodge, TN.

The family will have a graveside service on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, 1pm at the New Petros Cemetery, Cemetery Road Petros, TN.,  with Bro. Jamie Basler officiating.
