Ervin Davis

Mr. Ervin Daniel Davis, age 81 of Lancing, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2010 at his home in Lancing, surrounded by his family, after a short battle with cancer. He was born December 26, 1928 in Lancing to Arthur and Gerta Davis. He proudly served his country and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a hardworking man, who loved his family and worked hard to provide for them and he was proud of them.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Naoma Davis; second wife, Delsie Wells Davis; parents: Arthur and Gerta Davis; brothers: Grady and George Davis; sister, Reba Branstetter; special friend, Dahlia Gilmore; grandsons: Brent Potter and Michael Hammock; and great, grandson, Lucas Riley Armes.
He is survived by his children: Earl "Jack" Davis, Mary and husband, Bill Harris, Rebecca and husband, Cleo Potter Jr., Marlene and husband, Dennis West, Daniel and wife, Michelle Davis, Bonita Hawn, Linda Davis, Judy and husband, Jeff Henry, Barbara Wells Lowe, Brenda Wells Hammock, and Mary Ann Wells Wicks; sisters: Lena Barnett, Grace Schirmer, and Velma and husband, Wayne Howard.; thirty grandchildren; and several great, grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 9, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Clear Creek Cemetery, Lancing.
