Ernest Gunter, of Mossy Grove, TN

Ernest Wayne Gunter age 49, of Mossy Grove was born September 2, 1968 and passed away Tuesday morning, January 16, 2018.

Ernie was an avid outdoorsman and loved all God’s beautiful creation, especially these mountains and the Obed Wild and Scenic River. He loved paddling the rapids in his canoes on the Obed and meeting all the unique and wonderful people from all over the country and around the world, whom he befriended.

Nothing brought Ernie more joy than a smallmouth busting a topwater plug in the late summer, except for the smile of his beautiful daughter Gracie.

Ernie is preceded in death by his mother Nelda Gunter; grandparents, Lee and Betty Gunter and Ernest and Margaret Lamance; and his infant brother, Stephen.

He is survived by his daughter, Jalee Grace and her mother, Sarah; father, Wayne Gunter; sister, Robin and her husband, Duane Foster; and special nephew, Andrew Aydelott.

The family will receive friends Friday, January 19, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Mossy Grove Baptist Church with a funeral service to follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Jim Disney officiating. Graveside will be Saturday at Mossy Grove Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
