Mr. Edwin Rudolph Heidel, a man of faith, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, February 1, 2011. Born on July 20, 1915, he was one of 11 children born to Wilhemine Christine Mehlhorn Heidel and Frederick Alexander Heidel.
He was a life-long faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Wartburg and a prominent dairy farmer of the community.
He was preceded in death by mother and father, four brothers; Henry, Alex, Clarence and Alvin, five sisters; Ida, Rosa, Christine, Helen Brooks and Katie Peters.
Edwin is survived by loving and devoted wife of 70 and a half years; Lorraine Huling Heidel.
Four children and spouses; David R. Heidel (Sue), Joan Weber (Neil),
Wanda Lane (Stonney), Nina Wade (Ron).
Four grandchildren; Erika Henson (Brian), Christopher Weber (Melissa), Jeremy Weber (Jayne), Tyler Winstead and step-granddaughter; Jennifer Wade Haislip (John).
Four great-grandchildren; Zakary and Claire Henson, Owen Weber and Anniston Weber.
Brother, Martin Heidel, and a host of relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, February 5, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Wartburg, TN, with Rev. Stephen Skov officiating. Interment will follow in Morgan Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends and have a light luncheon in the Education Wing of the church following the interment.
