Mrs. Dorothy Faye "Memaw" Harlan, age 71 of Wartburg passed away Thursday evening December 8, 2011, in the University of Tennessee Medical Center after a brief illness. She was retired from the US Postal Service, but continued to work up until her illness a month ago doing what she loved, helping with kids at Central Elementary School. She was a member and a worker at Annadell Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband James (Jimmy) "Papaw" Harlan, Mother: Eula Mae Underwood, Father: Jessie Solomon.
Dorothy was so proud to be Memaw to her grandchildren and loved going and watching all them play in sports, she tried to never miss a game.
She is survived by her sons: Rick and wife Anna, Randy and wife Angie all of Wartburg. Grandchildren: Bethany, Derek, Kayla and Kirk Harlan all of Wartburg.
Sister-in-laws: Natalie Kennedy and Ann Smith of Deer Lodge
Memaw is also survived by a host of other friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening December 11, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 8:00p.m with Rev. Bill Goodman officiating. Graveside services will be Monday 11:00 a.m. in the Annadell Baptist Church Cemetery, Lancing, TN Schubert Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
