Dee Robbins

Mr. Dee Cordell Robbins Sr., age 85 of Chestnut Ridge went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2010. He was a dedicated lifelong member of High Point Freewill Baptist Church. He was loved by all who knew him.

Mr. Robbins retired as an electrician from TVA Kingston Steam Plant after 30 years of service.
He joined the U.S. Army on November 19, 1943 and was honorably discharged on April 25, 1946. He served in the 65th Division of the 259th Infantry and was later part of the 3rd Battalion Headquarter Division. While in active duty, he served in France, Germany and Austria.
Some of the medals he received were, World War II Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, CIB Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Sharp Shooter Medal and others.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Bell (Adams)Robbins,
Parents; John Calvin and Lily Ann Robbins,
Brothers; J.T., Albert, Carlie, Enos, Mac and Walter Robbins.
Son-in-laws; Sam Brock and Johnny Galyon,
granddaughter;Gidget Robbins Hamby.

He is survived by his wife; Wanda Robbins,
Daughers; Arlene Brock, Rita and husband Reuben Armes, Joan and husband Billy Durham, Pam and husband Larry May,
Son; Cordell and wife Janice Robbins,
Step-daughter; Gail and husband Kenny Allred, step-son; Larry and wife Teresa Hall,
And a host of Grandchildren,Great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Monday evening, October 25, 2010 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 6-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at High Point Baptist Church with
Bro. Curtis Diden and Bro. Bill Durham officiating.
Interment will follow in High Point Cemetery.
