Mr. Dean Hoyt Crass, age 77, went home to Heaven, to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on March 3, 2011 at Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. He was born July 26, 1933. He was a graduate of South Harriman High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Y-12 at Oak Ridge after 35 years of service and was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church at Oliver Springs. He was the son of Elmer and Lola Davis Crass.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Evelyn Kamer Crass; two daughters and sons-in-law: Tracy and Tom Miller of Clinton and Barbara and Robert Barber; four grandchildren: Camryn and Caleb Miller and Dylan and Dakota Barber; brother and sister-in-law: Benny and Patsy Crass; brothers-in-law: C.T. Johnson, Dan Stewart, and Charles Massey; and many loving nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 5th, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Garvin Walls officiating. A graveside service will be held Sunday, March 6th, at 1:30 p.m. in the Pine Orchard Cemetery, Oakdale.
