Dawson H. Howard of Lancing went home to be with the Lord and Savior on October 28, 2017.
Dawson worked for many years as a surveyor with Adams, Crafts, Hertz and Walker of Oak Ridge. Dawson also served as a county commissioner in the 4th district of Morgan County. He served his country by serving in the United States Air Force. Dawson was an Airman First Class from 1963-67. He was in the 456th CES at Tuy Hoa in 66-67 and later at Phan Rang in 1967.
He loved the Lord, his family and serving his country.
Dawson is preceded in death by his wife of 33 years Betty, his parents D.G. & Oma Howard; sisters, Marjorie Parks and Sybill Armes.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Glenda & Mitchell Dyer, their children, Curtis Dyer, Sarah Dyer, Alex and wife, Cassie Dyer all of Wartburg.
Donna & Rocky Laughter of Lancing, their children, Jessica & Adam Pappas of Wartburg, Michael (Chip) & wife, Barbara Laughter of Crossville and James (Thump) Laughter of Lancing.
Kim & Paul Monroe, their children, Autumn & finance’, Michael Wilson, Kaitlynn and Seth Monroe all of Maryville.
Dawson also has 9 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends that he loved and cared for very much.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Bro. Doyle Nance officiating. Graveside will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Clear Creek Cemetery in Lancing with Military Honors.
