David Phillips

David Phillips age 71 of Wartburg, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord, November 29, 2015 surrounded by his loved ones near and far. He was a very loving Father, Brother, Grandfather and Friend to anyone he came in contact with. Mr. Phillips worked as a laborer in his years of hard work. He served in the Army in 1963. His love for the Lord was shown every day in his life. He was a member of Tupper Town Baptist Church in Oliver Springs, Tennessee. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bethel (Smith) Phillips; son, Randy Ray Phillips; father, Roscoe Phillips; and Lillie Phillips, as well as a host of brothers, sisters and many family members.
David is survived by his children, Missy Phillips, David Phillips Brian Phillips and Benji Phillips and ex-wife, Thelma Phillips. He also helped raise his granddaughter, Marie Hamby and grandson, JaJay Laymance. He has several grandchildren that thought the world of him, Jacob, Tabby, Tricia and Harley Phillips, Taylor Hamby, Tiny and Josh Phillips. He had several great grandchildren that thought he hung the moon, Triston, Trinity, Aleah Hamby and many more. He also is survived by sister, Christine Wilkey and brothers, Paul and Jonas Phillips, as well as his favorite Aunt Delsy and many others that he thought the world of.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 5, 2015 from 1:00 to 2:00PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. A Memorial Service will follow at 2:00PM .
