David HUMPHREY

Mr. David Humphrey Sr., age 72 of Coalhill, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2011 with his family by his side. His smile and energetic spirit will be sadly missed. David attended Williams Chapel Baptist Church of Coalhill. Mr. Humphrey was born June 29, 1938 to Willis Reid and Lucille Humphreys of Coalhill.

David was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Self Humphreys; father, Willis Reid Humphreys; brother, Reid Humphreys; and sister, Joyce Kring.
He is survived by his faithful companion, Betty Hurst of Harriman; son, David Humphreys of Harriman; daughters: Melissa Collins and Renea Smith of Wartburg; step-son, Shane Hurst of Rockwood; sisters: Jo Ann Kring, Mary Freels, Connie Crass of Harriman, Francis Clark of Georgia, Peggy Hickman of Indiana, and Levona Hickman of Oakdale; brother, Jimmy Humphreys of Oakdale; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive Friday, January 21, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Bro. Sonny Johnson and Bro. Don Daugherty officiating. A graveside will be held Saturday, January 22nd, at 1:00 p.m. in the Coalhill Cemetery.
