David Goodman, 80, of Old Hwy 27, Lancing, TN went home to be with our Lord on January 18th, 2023 at UT Medical Center, Knoxville, TN.
David was a devout man of God and has been a prominent figure in Morgan County throughout his life as a Baptist minister, cattleman, and small business owner. He also served on boards of directors at Citizens First Bank for more than 20 years and with Farm Bureau for more than 30 years (10 years as president). David was also instrumental in establishing the Morgan County Cattlemen’s Association.
David was preceded in death by his wonderful wife of more than 40 years Carolyn (Pittman) Goodman, mother and father Willard and Pauline Goodman, sister Freda, brother Wayne, and nephews Joey Campbell and Phillip Goodman.
He is survived in death by his lovely wife of 16 years Barbara;
Children: daughter Linna, son and daughter in law William and Laura, son and daughter in law Mark and Andrea;
Step Children: step-son and wife Duane and Lisa Scott, step-son and wife Steve and Jennifer Scott, step-daughter and husband Susan and Kenny Larue, step-daughter and husband Kaye and Troy McCartt.
Siblings: brother and sister in law Dale and Terecia Goodman, sister and brother in law Jeanette and Tom Patrick, sister Marilyn Milligan, and sister in law Sara Jo Goodman.
Also, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, and a wonderful church family.
Family will be receiving friends from 4:00pm-6:00pm on Sunday, January 22nd, with the funeral service at 6:00pm @ Mossy Grove Baptist Church where he has held positions of Pastor, Associate Pastor, and most recently Senior Adults Director along side his wife Barbara. There will be a graveside service @ Wartburg Cemetery at 11:30am on Monday, January 23rd. Services will be officiated by Bro Jim Disney pastor of Mossy Grove Baptist Church.
