David Collins

David J. Collins 74, of the Mossy Grove Community, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday March 1, 2012. He was born on December 28, 1937. He was a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces. He retired from Boeing in March 1997. He was a devoted member of Pilot Mountain Missionary Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents: Jerry and Leota Collins, sisters: Betty Aytes, Linda Hannah and Dean Watson, Brother: Mark Anthony, Half Brother: Doug Powers.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years: Martha B.(Kidd) Collins
Son: Anthony D. Collins of Mossy Grove
Daughter: Winnie Nelson and husband Tim of Wartburg
Grandchildren: Christina, Jessica and Tony Collins, Jason Nelson and wife Jessica and Travis Nelson
Two Great Grandchildren: Madyson and Mason Robinson
Sister: Katie Laughter and husband Jimmy of Mossy Grove
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

The family will receive friends Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Schubert Funeral Home Wartburg. Funeral Services will be at 1:00pm, Monday March 5, 2012 at Pilot Mountain Missionary Baptist Church in Lancing with Reverend Charles Webb and Reverend Roy Langley officiating. Interment will follow in the Lane Cemetery with Military Honors.
