Cora (Carrie) L. Sexton of Wartburg, TN

Cora (Carrie) Sexton age 92, born May 25, 1925 of Wartburg, TN went to her heavenly home on December 17, 2017.  She was saved at a very young age.  And was of the Baptist Faith.   She was preceded in death by her husband  of 58 years Lorenzo Lee Sexton, her Father and  Mother Arlin and Vela Sexton, Sister; Winnie West, brothers-in-law Roscoe Anderson , Willard Yancey and Kenneth Young.  Cora was known to many as Carrie but to most of her family she was known as “Granny”.  She was a housewife, mother, grandmother that loved her family and took great delight in making sure there was always plenty of food for everyone, especially her chicken & dumplings.

She is survived by her children:  Son: Donnie (Linda) Sexton, Daughter:  Marcia (C.A.) Kelly

Grandchildren:  Shane (Carolyn) Sexton, Holly (Mark) Jones, Brandon (Amy) Sexton, Darren Kelly, Joe (Amanda) Kelly.

Twelve Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild.

Sisters:  Clara Anderson, Nesby (Ronnie) Duncan, Charlene Young

Brother:  Wilburn (Anna) Sexton

Very Special Niece and husband Diane and Allen Carson

Also surviving are other nieces and nephews and family and friends.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful people at the Life Care of Morgan County that showed her so much love and compassion.

The family will receive friends Tuesday December 19, 2017 from 1-3 pm Schubert Funeral Home Wartburg, for a celebration of her life.  Funeral Services will follow at 3 pm with Bro Jason Lowe and C.A. Kelly officiating.  Interment will follow the funeral services at the Union Cemetery, Wartburg.
