Cora Mccann

Cora McCann, 83 of Wartburg, a faithful Christian, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at the Life Care Center of Morgan County. Retired from the Agricultural Engineering Department of the University of Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Myrtle Newberry McCann of Wartburg.

She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by survivors: Sister, Christine Vespie, Wartburg. Nephews: Randall and Kim Vespie, who lovingly cared for Cora in her later years; Ken and Gail Vespie of Oak Ridge; Wayne and Kay Vespie of Hanson, Kentucky; Stan Vespie of Linden, Tennessee. Niece: Joan and Edd Diden of Wartburg. Beloved great nephews: Phil, Matthew, Tim, David, Paul, Jonathan and Adam Vespie and BJ Diden. Great nieces: Kathy Ketner, Emily Gibson, Julie Shelton, Katie Vespie, and Miriam Allman. Several great-great nieces and nephews including Jacob Mynatt of Knoxville.

Graveside services will be held Saturday April 23, 2011 at the Wartburg Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with nephew, Dr. Stan Vespie, officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at Schubert's Funeral Home prior to the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Tom's Creek Baptist Church in Linden, Tennessee. Schubert Funeral Home of Wartburg in charge of the arrangements.
