Mr. Clifton Clowers, Jr, age 76 of Wartburg, went to be with the Lord at his home Monday, October 14th, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. Junior was a born-again Christian, loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved working with his hands and enjoyed his career as a sawyer. After retirement he became a dedicated volunteer for Morgan Scott Project leading mission teams with home repair needs. Junior was often seen cruising through town in his white and tan ford truck.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 45 years Phyllis, mother Geneva Clowers Armes, sister Kathy Bertram; brother and sister in-laws: Ralph Morgan, Jane, Sammy, Johnny, Emma, James, Robert, Sally (Robinson), L.A.(Kathryn), M.D. (Letta) and Glenn, Carolyn McCartt; A.D. (June) Kelly, Parley McCann, Ralph (Betty) Fulks, and Lynn Swint.
He is survived by his two daughters Crystal (Bobby) Tompkins, Tina (Derrick) Sexton;
6 grandchildren: Jacob (Megan) Sexton, Jessie Tompkins, Lucas Sexton, Justin (Abby) Tompkins, Tisha (Diego) Munguia, and Rylenn.
Five great grandchildren: Asher, Liam, Wrenly, Hayes, Remi;
Sister Maggie Morgan;
brother and sister in-laws: Bill and Ella Smith, P.J. McCartt, Sue and Robert Moore, Gladys Miller, Eva Swint, Mickey Robertson, Barbara McCartt; Special friend Bill Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 16th 5:00pm to 7:00pm, funeral to follow, Malcom Strong, officiating. Graveside will be Thursday, 17th, 11:00am in the Lane Cemetery.
