Claude Melhorn

Claude Edwin Melhorn, 66, received his special angel wings on September 7th, 2015 while residing at Life Care Center of Morgan County.
Claude was preceded in death by his father, Herman Melhorn, infant brother and brothers Tommy Melhorn of Florida and Jimmy Melhorn of Joliet, IL.

Claude is survived by his mother, Arttie Marie Melhorn, sister, Anna Human, special friend, Jerry Higgs, brothers, Jessy Melhorn (Sheila), Dave Melhorn (Kathy), George Melhorn (Annie) and Harold Melhorn (Judy). Claude was cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Since the beginning of Claude's life he brought his family joy and laughter. His family will always cherish their memories of him during family Christmas' when "Ho Ho" would visit and the many boxes of Twinkies that were shared over the years. Some of Claude's favorite things in life included McDonald's fish sandwiches, watching Hee Haw and playing with his link chain that he called "Hoot and Hey".

A special thank you to the caregivers of Life Care Center of Morgan County who cared for and loved Claude.

The family will receive friends 5-7pm on Wednesday, September 9th, 2015 from 5-7 pm Schubert Funeral Home Wartburg. Funeral service will follow at 7pm, with Bro. Billy Durham officiating. Graveside Service will be held on Thursday September 10th, 2015 at 11am at Wartburg City Cemetery.
