Clara Byrge

Clara Elizabeth "Jones" Byrge, age 63 of Newport News, Virginia born November 25th, 1952 formerly of Glenmary, TN passed away peacefully June 8th, 2016 at home with her family by her side. She fought a long battle with cancer courageously. She worked for St. Francis Nursing Facility for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Herman and Nettie "Jeffers" Jones; Grandparents, Tom and Drucindy Jeffers and Josh and Sarah Jones; Father and Mother in Law, Oliver and Evia Byrge; Sisters, Nola Jane Vihlen, Christine Warren, Infant, Helen Bernice and Infant, Gertrude; Brothers, Infant, Earnest Hugh, Ronnie M. Jones, Donnie R. Jones, Carl V. Jones, Earl R. Jones, Tom Jones, Herman Jones Jr. and Fred Jones.
She is survived by her husband of 42 year Leslie Byrge; Daughter, Jennifer Lesley Byrge and Granddaughter, Shayla Gabryelle Shuping, all of Newport News. Clara was very proud of Shalya who was the light of her life; Brothers, Frank and Alan L. Jones; Sisters, Sue Bowling and Shirley Parton; Special Sister in-law and Brother in- Law, Kathie and Wesley Freytag; Special friends, Carol Coleman and Mary Rodgers from Work; Also, many Nieces, Nephews and other Special Friends.
The family will receive Friends Monday June 13th, 2016 at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg from 1 PM to 3 PM. Funeral Services will follow at 3 PM with Brother Roy Langley Officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Church Cemetery.
