Christine Haynes

Mrs. Christine "Peggy" Haynes, age 98 of Harriman, passed away Friday July 10, 2009 in the Harriman Care and Rehab Center. She was born February 10th, 1911 in Sunbright. She was a member of the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Harriman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Haynes; son: Joe Billy Haynes; sisters: Myra Sluder, Irene Newman, and Iva Jean Underwood; and brothers: Gib Pittman and Johnnie Overstreet.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Sandee and Phil Green of Harriman; grandchildren: Amy and Andrew Green, both of Harriman; niece: Marilyn Collins of Florida; first cousins: Roy McCann of Crossville and his daughter, Brenda of Knoxville.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 12th from 2 to 4 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Grant Carter and Rev. James Jones Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Swan Pond Cemetery, Harriman.
