Charles Oney, of Wartburg, TN

Mr. Charles “Earl” Oney, age 89, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wartburg, retired from Y-12 after 37 years and was a founding member of the Morgan County Rescue Squad. He was also a special friend to us at Schubert Funeral Home who was always eager to help when needed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Eva Oney; brothers, Harold, Hershel and Oscar, Jr. Oney; nephew, Randall Oney.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Virginia Bonifacius Oney; daughters, Tina, Cheryl and Barbie Oney and April Lester who was just like a daughter to the family; sister, Relda Oney; sister-in-law, Wanda, Christine and Lillian Oney; special niece, Betty Maden and a host of nieces, nephews and special friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg with the funeral to follow at 3:00 with Bro. Doug White officiating. Interment will follow in the Morgan Memorial Gardens in Wartburg with Military Honors.
