Charles Burchell

Mr. Charles Edward Burchell, age 84 of Knoxville, formerly of Sunbright, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009 at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. Mr. Burchell was born June 30, 1925 in Harlan, Ky. He lived in Sunbright, TN as a young man and attended Midway Church. He was a resident for many years at Open Arms Care, Inc., at Ball Camp Pike, Knoxville, TN. Charlie was preceded in death by parents: Sidney Edgar and Minnie Florence Phillips Burchell; sisters: Gladys Tinch and Ruby Edna Ashbrook from Sunbright; brother: Lawrence Burchell; infant brothers: Henry, Frankie, and Wilbur; infant sisters: Mabel, Hazel, Ruth, Roberta and one unnamed baby sister. He was a wonderful brother, uncle, and friend.

He is survived by several nieces: Sharon Tompkins, Laurel Tinch, and Beverly Adamson; nephews: Jack Tinch, Denver Tinch, and Robert Ashbrook; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family friends, and loved one from Open Arms Care in Knoxville.

The family will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at Schubert Funeral Home, Sunbright. A graveside service will follow in the Union Hill Cemetery, Sunbright with Bro. Ken Bolling officiating.
