Mr. Charles Henry Adkins, age 79, passed away April 21, 2011, after a long illness, surrounded by family at his home in Harriman.
Charles was a 10 year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a self-employed office machine repairman at Adkins Business Machines in Harriman.

He was preceded in death by parents: Rev. Lacy and Martha Heckman Adkins; brother, William (Billy) Adkins; sisters: Carrie Adkins, Gladys Howard, Rosa Lee Sumner, and Blanch Gosnell.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mayadgile Pass Adkins; daughter, Teresa Clark and husband, Bobby; twin sons: Trevor Adkins and wife, Carol, and Tracy Adkins; grandchildren: Adam Clark and wife, Stella, Lacey Turpin and husband, Richard, Ashley Freels and husband, Jamie, Tyler and Dylan Adkins; great-grandchildren: Ryan and Brandon Turpin, Sean and Sara Freels, and Brady and Audrey Clark; sisters: Jessie Hamill and Josephine Smith; many nieces and nephews; and special care giving friend, Junior Sneed.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 23, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Bro. Bobby Clark officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Sunbright Cemetery.
