Carlos Stewart

Carlos Stewart, age 72, of Gobey went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 15, 2024. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Gobey. 

He was preceded in death by his parents Garlin and Ellie Stewart; son Ashley Carl Stewart; brothers: Vester and Orman Stewart; sisters: Ann Clark, Nina Veno, Emily Dillard, and Flonnie Moore.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Melissa Coffey Stewart; daughter and son-in-law Dr. Natalie and Wayne Frasier; granddaughters Lila and Ellie Frasier; sisters: Carolyn Gallaher (George) and Darlene Welch; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Carlos was a member of the United States Army and served in Germany. He retired as a security officer from K25. He loved gardening at his home, which was his favorite place to be. Carlos had many friends and family and he will be so very missed. He loved his family and the Lord and we rest in the promise of seeing him again in glory. His favorite Bible verse was James 5:16.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Kilby and Rev. Keith Kilby officiating. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Macedonia Church cemetery in Gobey. 

Pall bearers are: Wayne Frasier, James Maden, Darren Gallaher, Barry Moore, Clarke Gallaher, Mark Kilby, and Bill Hamby.
