Billy Price

Billy Dean Price, Sr. of Lancing, born July 10, 1939, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the age of 77.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Bessy Price; father-in-law Gorman Spradlin; grand-daughter, Celena Cheyenne Price; all of Wartburg.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma (Spradlin) Price; Mother-in-law, Geneva Spradlin of Wartburg, Tn; four children, son, Billy Price Jr. and wife Angel of Oldsmar, Fl with grandchildren Annastasia and Larry;  son, Dale Price of Lancing, with grandchildren, Misty and Andrew and great-grandchild Gavin; son, Rodney Price of Wartburg and grandchildren, Jessica, Joshua, Rodney Jr., Matthew, Bailey, and great-grandchildren, Isabella and Lucas; and daughter, Rhonda Price-Catalino and husband William of New Port Richey, FL. with grandchildren, Jeremy, Justin and Dominic and great-grandchildren, Alden, Parker and Avery.

Billy is also survived by three siblings, Betty (Edward) James of Harriman, TN; Sue (Phil) Turner of Rossville, Georgia; Jerry (Sandy) Price of Oak Ridge, TN; along with brother/sister-in-laws, Delonha (Garland) Heidle, James (Carolyn) Spradlin, Pamela Kay (Wayne) Gibbs, Sandra (Michael) Roysden, Debbie (John) Mallett, Steve (Sue) Spradlin.

Billy has always had a passion for hunting and hunting dogs. He has worked closely with the Stephens Breeders Association to keep the Stephens Cur bloodline running and treeing the way a good hunter would appreciate. He has bred Stephens Cur dogs for many years and has written a monthly article for Full Cry Magazine for several years. He has appreciated the friends and hunting family he gained along the way. He is survived by ten of his hunting dogs and he considered them the very best friends he could ever have.

Billy and Norma have been members at Glenmary Baptist Church in Glenmary, TN and have believed strongly in their faith. His family has every certainty that he has gone to be with our Lord and Savior and knows they will all be together again someday.

Billy’s loved one will be receiving family and friends at Schubert Funeral Home in Wartburg, TN on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Eugene Hunter, Rodney Price Jr., and Mathew Price officiating.
