Alice Guffey

Alice "Billie" Ann Abston Guffey, age 80, of Rockwood, TN went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2014 at the Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge. Born July 14, 1933, Rockwood, she was a loving wife, mother, nanny and sister, also an avid golfer, bowler and a Tennessee Vol Fan. She was preceded in death by parents William and Ruby Brasel Abston, brothers Earl and Huey; sisters Louise Scott, Mildred Meadows and Ruth Mitchell.

She is survived by her husband Standford "S.L." Guffey
Daughters: Deborah (Terry) Smith
Linda (Lawrence) Valdivia
Grandsons: Brian (Brooke) Cox, Anthony Valdivia
Step-granddaughter: Claire Smith
Step-grandsons: Kenric (Jennifer) Smith and Jordan (Christina) Smith
Great-grand children Amber, Adam and Avery Cox, Hannah, Gracie, Carley, Grant, Andrew, Olivia, Alli & Ryland
Sister: Brenda (Sam) Turner of Rockwood
Brothers: Frank Abston & Emma Jean of Harriman
Jerry Abston of Guntersville, AL
David (Rhea) Abston of Wilmington, NC
Sister-in-law: Lillian Perry
Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 2, 2014 from 1-3 pm Schubert Funeral Home Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 3 pm with Rev. Charles Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in the Nelson Cemetery, Catoosa.
