Aileen Underwood

Aileen (Hawn) Underwood (Granny) age 88 of the Annadell Community in Lancing, TN went home to be with her Lord early Wednesday morning July 17, 2013 at her daughter's home in Lancing, TN. She was born June 3, 1925 to C. B. and Maggie (Davis) Hawn. She was a member of the Annadell Baptist Church of Lancing, TN of which her parents, late Husband Leslie Underwood, and she were some of the Founding Members. In recent years due to health and needed assistance she had faithfully attended Armes Chapel Church of Wartburg, TN where her son-in-law is Pastor. She was preceded in death by her parents C. B. and Maggie (Davis) Hawn, husband Leslie Underwood, son Charles (Doc) Underwood, brother Coy Hawn, sister Eula Mae Underwood, sister-in-laws Wanda Underwood, Wilda York, Hazel May, and Helen Hicks; brother-in-laws Ralph Underwood, John York, Herschel Stringfield, R C May, James Mays, and Talmadge Davis.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sondra and Perry Spurling, daughter-in-law Mary Underwood all of Lancing, TN, brother Ralph Hawn and wife Ruth of Prattville, Ala. Sister-in-laws Shirley Mays of Lima, OH, Merolene Davis of Camila, GA, and JoAnn Stringfield of Weed, New Mexico. Brother-in-laws Paul Hicks Sr. of Harriman, TN, J C Stringfield of Lancing, TN, and Estel (Bud) Underwood and wife Sandy of Coalfield, TN. Grandchildren Kim and husband Billy Glen Kennedy of Lancing, TN, Chris and wife Sherri Underwood of Platteville, Wisconsin, Aaron and wife Lesley Spurling of Lancing, TN. Great grandchildren: Drew Kennedy, Dylan Kennedy, Jackson Spurling, and Jenna Spurling all of Lancing, TN. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family, church family, friends, and special friends at the Pilot Mountain Diner, all of whom she cherished and loved to socialize and fellowship with.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 19, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Schubert Funeral Home, Wartburg. Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 PM with Bro. Perry Spurling and Bro. Aaron Spurling officiating. Graveside Services will be Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Underwood Family Cemetery, Lancing, TN.
